Constant Voltage Transformers Description

Constant Voltage Transformers introduced are more efficiently tackled the minutest
disturbance in the mains voltage line.CVT is simply a magnetic transformer of a
special construction that has a capacitor connected across the secondary winding
of the transformer.The Main Role of a constant voltage transformer is only to
provide a constant voltage, but in uses it proves to be much more than that.
Constant Voltage Transformers provides a good stabilization of voltage in the range
of 160- 290 volts. whereas relay type voltage stabilizer and SMPS also provides the
same voltage. To set up the field in between the coils, a separate shunt path is
provided between the two winding, whereas an air gap is formed in the shunt path.

Operation of CVT:

The portion of the magnetic core over which the secondary winding is wound is
saturated, whereas the portion over which the primary winding is wound is not
saturated. A capacitor is connected across the secondary winding to tune out the
output at a frequency that is very close to 50 Hz. capacitor which is connected
also makes the current in the secondary winding that to increase the saturation of
the secondary flux. The output voltage will be approach a square wave.
