To Whom It May Concern:

It is with great pleasure I write this letter of recommendation on behalf of Jeanna Watson who was my student assistant
during the fall semester and student teacher during the winter semester at Wyoming High School. The very first day of
school Jeanna fully immersed herself in the teaching experience and embraced our diverse student population. Her
charismatic and compassionate personality make her a positive role model and earned the respect and trust of the
students. Ms. Watson has established relationships with students which allowed her to confidently set up an
educational environment with high expectation and engagement.

Jeannas classroom instruction actively involves all students in the learning process while incorporating a variety of
methods for differentiated instruction. She is able to identify strengths and weaknesses of students and varies the
learning styles in order for all students to reach the same learning objectives. Ms. Watson taught in a classroom with
Chinese exchange students, ELL students, and co-taught special education students. She successfully balanced all the
needs of these students and created a learning environment with rigor and relevance.

One of Jeannas strengths is her comprehensive knowledge of content as well as the common core standards. Her
instructional plans are built around essential questions and learning objectives that actively involve students in complex
learning that have real world application. Jeanna empowers the students to take the knowledge learned and
demonstrate mastery through common core aligned assessments that call for higher order thinking. She teaches with
confidence and effectively communicates her expectations to her students. Most importantly, she demonstrates these
expectations by her own behavior and treatment of students.

Ms. Watson is also committed and involved and has taken part in a variety of activities outside of her assignment to help
WHS. Jeanna has attended extracurricular activities such as football games, basketball games, soccer games, the fall
play and improv show. She was instrumental in collaborating with the English department to help plan the Wyoming
Reads! Community Project in which students read the novel All American Boys. Ms. Watson has gladly gone above and
beyond expected professional obligations having perfect attendance and showing she is reliable. For reasons such as
these our principal has been asked that she be a proctor for SAT testing. Students, staff, and administration see Jeanna
as an integral part of the WHS team and as an asset to the teaching profession.

I give Jeanna Watson my highest recommendation and know she will be an influential teacher. Should you have any
questions about her attributes please feel free to contact me at 616.862.3466 or email me at odellj@wyomingps.org.

Sincerely,

Joslyn ODell
