Suicide Is Real
Suicide is one of the top leading causes of death in the United States, and that number

continues to rise daily which ends now. Many people who are suicidal do not realize there is no

coming back once you take your life that is permanent, and the impact on others who cared for

them afterwards is far worse. Suicide in a way can even be considered a selfish and weak act due

it basically being someone taking the easy way out without considering any downfalls on

everyone around them. This is the exact reason why the warning signs and symptoms need to be

addressed early, so that it never even gets to the point of suicide. Suicide can be prevented in

many ways, and right now is an ideal opportunity for America to wake up, and take action.

Suicide has no single cause, instead it regularly occurs as stressors surpass current

adapting capabilities of people experiencing mental conditions. There are many various

contributors that lead to suicide including loss of a loved one, or even a simple breakup. Each

person deals with situations in their own unique way and nobody knows each others inner

demons that they are fighting. American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (2017) reported that

[n]inety percent of people who die by suicide have a mental disorder at the time of their

deaths. This statistic found about mental disorders has helped readers to become more aware of

the various factors that contribute to suicide, and how serious they each are. Many different kinds

of doctors have done tedious research on what one specific essential causes suicide, yet have

found nothing due to each situation being so unique. Each person has their own reason as to why

they committed suicide that no one else may not ever understand, although together it can be

prevented by helping with just basic coping skills.

Although, people are aware of suicide taking place more attention needs to be given to

the warning signs and risks factors behind it. Something to pay a close mind to when worried

about someone being suicidal is a drastic adjustment in conduct or the nearness of totally new

behaviors. There are many various warnings signs to pay close attention to for instance, [if a

person talks about being a burden to others, having no reason to live, and killing

themselves]. (American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, 2017) These warning signs given

has helped in many situations dealing with suicidal patients in order to prevent them from getting

to the full potential of actually committing suicide. This is only a few of the ways society can

learn to help and take action before it gets to the point of suicide. Commonwealth of

Massachusetts (2017) stated some various, [risk factors such as feelings of hopelessness,

traumatic experiences, loss of a loved one, a relationship or job]. These facts on the risk factors

of suicide help to understand more in depth what truly causes a person to get to the point of

wanting to take their own life, and why.

Of course, coping with the feelings and thoughts of suicide can be very difficult without

any assistance. Any single person trying to deal with suicidal thoughts, or depression needs some

type of support system behind them. They cannot do it on their own due to their current

emotional, and mental state of mind making it physically incapable to deal with regular daily life

as everyone else does. One of the various times when people let their feelings and thoughts gets

the best of them is, when someone feels like their pain exceeds their resources and their ability

to cope, [and] suicide begins to seem like the only option. This statement summarizes as a

whole why each person truly commits suicide, and that is in fact that they see it as an escape

route from everything that has gone wrong in their lives. A person can truly only handle so much

that is a stereotype that will always be factual and that explains the stressors leading up to

suicide. Physically, mentally, and emotionally a person can only take so much negativity and

traumatic events until they hit their breaking point and for many thats suicide.

Furthermore, the actual statistics and facts on suicide need to be broadcasted worldwide

to help everyone become more aware. Many Americans do not even know their own children

have tried to commit suicide not once, but maybe even a few times while they were even home.

Tracy, N (2017) noted that, suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death in people under the age of

[twenty-four]. This statistic given proved more and more young adults today are dealing with

too much stress, and violence around them causing them to become depressed pushing them to

the point of suicide ruining their lives forever. Most of the time many teenagers start off cutting

their wrists, which can later lead to trying to overdose on narcotics to take away the pain when

no one is around. American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (2017) reported that, suicide is

the [tenth] leading cause of death in the U.S. [making it on average, one-hundred and twenty-one

suicides per day]. This data given on the background of suicide should be depressing to know

due to America being the reason it is so high at the current time.

Lastly, there are many different mental disorders leading to suicide as well as there are

treatments for it. Sadly everyone does not get the chance to experience these treatments That is

exactly why more Americans need to wake up, and speak up whenever you see a hopeless person

in need reach out a lending hand. There are many different therapies, and treatments that help

with all kinds of mental disorders that could possibly lead to suicide leaving no excuse.

HealthyPlace.com Staff Writer (2017) stated that, there are two proven psychotherapies for

treating those who attempt suicide cognitive behavior therapy for suicide attempters (CBT) and

dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) for patients with borderline personality disorder and

recurrent suicidal ideation and behaviors. This specific information helped share the two exact

therapies that readers need to know to help someone they know whos suicidal, or to prevent

themselves from committing such acts. There are many various mental disorders that can

genuinely lead to suicide, but just to name a few are depression, anxiety, and even drug abuse so

pay attention.

In conclusion, there are many factors that work together to contribute to a person wanting

to commit suicide not just one single cause alone. People with mental disorders need to be taken

care of, and payed very close attention to at all times in order to keep them from getting to such a

detrimental state. Families and loves ones must work together to take action, and make use of the

resources around them including things like various therapies. Now with all the different warning

signs to look out for and various coping skills made available everywhere there is no excuse as to

suicide rates cant start to decrease. Suicide is avoidable in many various ways, and now is the

time for people to make moves, and pay more attention.
