HY/2013/01
Assistant Resident Engineer responsible for contract administration and construction supervision for the
construction of the foundation works for the Passenger Clearance Building (PCB) associated with the Hong Kong
Border Crossing facilities. Key issues included less than anticipated improvements in the soft soils and
implementation of the observational method for the PCB basement excavation requiring close coordination with the
contractor to ensure that the temporary works do not have any adverse effects on the as-built bored piles.
Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Link Project, Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities
Engineer for detailed design to construction of the Reclamation Works, Seawall and Remedial Works at Portions A,
B, and C2a. Worked in close collaboration with the Main Contractor to solve complex technical problems.
Key issues included assessment of ground conditions and ground properties, review of field performance following
construction, back analysis and prescription of remedial measures.
Wynn Resorts Cotai Ground Investigation & Enabling Works Design Services, Macau

MTR XRL C823B Shek Kong Stabling Sidings and Emergency Rescue Sidings
Prescription of alternate design and construction sequence for D-wall panels located in the immediate vicinity
below a 1400mm diameter water main that traverses the cut and cover tunnel. Alternative solutions included
preloading temporary struts and the provision of additional mass concrete infill (MCI) during the backfilling process.
Key issues included reducing any on-going ground settlement behind the D-wall that would consequently affect the
1400mm dia. water main and review evaluation of the structural integrity of the pipeline.
Macau LRT Phase I Redesign of Stations 9,11,12 Viaduct & Tunnels (C230R)
Provided geotechnical support to carry out review of geotechnical desk studies and local geotechnical information
to determine the geological and geotechnical conditions and their impact on the ELS design. Carried out detailed
design of diaphragm walls and lateral support system at Portion Stations 9, 11 and 12 based on envisaged
construction sequence, ground conditions, site geometry, and the permanent works geometry.
MTR Contract 810B Express Rail Link West Kowloon Terminus (South)
Engineer for and design of rock stabilization works for the exposed rock face during excavation in the south east
corner of the site based on kinematic analysis using Televiewer data and rock face mapping and prescription of
pattern bolting requirements based on potential kinematic failures and pull out tests to ascertain the performance of
additional support.
