This memorable activity teaches students how to ask and answer present simple wh-
questions.

Before class, make one copy of the worksheet for each student.

Procedure

Give each student a copy of the worksheet.

Students begin by completing sentences about themselves.

The students then work in pairs and write down the questions that correspond to the
sentences they wrote.

Students write the questions in the present simple under their sentences. Each question
must begin with a question word (Who, Which, How often, etc.).

For example, for the first sentence, students should write: What do you like to do in the
evening?

When the students have finished writing their questions, have them start moving round the
classroom asking and answering the questions.

When they find someone who has the same answer as them, they say, "Likewise" and write
the students name in the second column of the worksheet.

Students cannot look at each others worksheet.

Encourage them to talk to as many different people as possible and to ask follow-up
questions where appropriate.

At the end, students discuss their findings with the whole class.
