Kahoot Workshop for Teachers Lesson Plan

Date: April 11, 2017

Time: 1:30-2:30

Location: Dalton Middle School (Room 632)

Audience: 6th grade teachers who would like to know more about implementing Kahoot in their

classroom.

Materials needed: Meeting agenda, Creating a Kahoot handout, Different Types of Kahoots

handout, Kahoot Notes handout, projector, computer, Kahoot introduction quiz

Overview: This workshop will provide 6th grade teachers the opportunity to participate in a one-

hour workshop about the program Kahoot. During this workshop, teachers will learn how to use

Kahoot to formatively assess students and to use as an instructional tool. During the workshop, I

will provide the teachers with handouts to help assist them in better understanding the program. I

will also take them through the program to show the available features and how to best use them

in the classroom.

Learning objective: Teachers will be able to independently implement the use of Kahoot in the

classroom as an assessment tool for students.

1. Welcome (1:30-1:40)

a. Discuss use of technology in the classroom

b. Learning objectives of workshop
c. Pass out handouts and the agenda for the meeting

2. Explain (1:40-2:00)

a. What is Kahoot?
b. Play a Kahoot with teachers on general knowledge questions

c. Uses in the classroom

3. Lesson (2:00-2:25)

a. Discuss Log-in procedures

b. Show how to create a basic Kahoot
c. Demonstrate other Kahoot functions available
d. Have teachers create their own basic Kahoot

4. Conclusion (2:25-2:30)

a. Question and Answer session for Kahoot functions

Assessment: At the conclusion of the session, the participants will complete a survey based on

Google Forms. I will use the information from the survey to analyze the overall effectiveness of

the workshop and my presentation. In addition, I will also determine if more coaching or

workshops are needed to help teachers successfully implement Kahoot in the classroom.
