Collaborated with special education teacher to serve the nine students with special needs within our class of
26 students, focused on fostering a community of learners where every child is valued for their ideas.
Created consistent classroom behavior expectations as well as individualized discipline plans to increase on-
task behaviors and promote a focused, positive learning environment.
Constructed schools first positive behavior committee to examine and implement suggestions on improving
school-wide morale and decreasing negative behaviors.
Implemented literacy and science project based learning unit after completing two week summer VISTA
program at UVAs Curry School of Education.
Designed, launched, and managed schools first STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math)
after-school club with over 70 fourth and fifth grade students present at monthly meetings.
