Professional Experience:
Senior Technical Project Manager:

CenturyLink: Program/Project/Application PM including the Application PM level and at the PM level for 12
years.

My Responsibilities:

Responsible for software project management in IT in various roles from Application Project Manager,
Senior Technical Project Manager and on occasion, Program Manager in Telecommunications.
Use SDLC (Waterfall) or Scrum/Agile and Extreme Programming Methodologies.
Understand the technical scope of work, design packages to grasp the architecture, topology, and
technology involved in the project.
Understand and identify up front, with the aid of the project team, dependencies and interactions that
must be managed for successful on-time completion.
Work with project teams to develop alternative solutions when necessary, identify early on when
expedited activity is required and drive true escalations to keep projects on plan.
Responsible for Financial Analysis. Responsible for managing as well as tracking budgets down to the
individual and hour as necessary per application to make sure costs are reported correctly for each
application.
Responsible for delivering projects on time and within budget and with quality.
Host global team meetings with software development managers, developers, testers, software
architects, and system engineers at least weekly to manage risks, gather status, drive coding, testing, and
defect fixes to meet deadlines.
Responsible for individual applications as well as integration of those applications code and testing.
Meetings: Program Managers weekly, meet with my supervisor bi-weekly.
Budget report done weekly or bi-weekly, depending on the project.
Maintain q-share sites where data about the project can be viewed 24 X7.
Responsible for verifying and correcting information in SAP at the Project Manager level.
Very active with Change Control Management as driving the changes and defects being worked.
Negotiation of Project with third party vendors is done through our Contracts office and they supplied
the experts who helped walk us through the process. Making sure that both the third-party contractor
and our company were clear with each other on the technical aspects of the software code to be
delivered.
Keep Microsoft Project up to date regarding the schedule, percent of each task completed, created risks
and assigned them to the appropriate personnel with deadlines and continually managed and reported
upwards on those risks.
Participate in deployments, host bridges for the applications or the project and report status upwards.
Participate in the post deployment checkout where the Business gives its approval or made specific
requests.
Serve as Team Leader for my applications.
Create and maintain technical documentation such as Project Plans, Defect Lists, and Lessons Learned.
Take responsibility to make project teams successful and accountable.
Build relationships to foster team success.

Thesis: Wireless 911: is Bundling of Services the Answer? This was one of the first theses in the world on the
subject as Wireless 911 was being researched in Boulder, CO.

Recipient of Study Abroad Scholarship for 1 Year as an exchange student at the University of Uppsala,
Uppsala, Sweden majoring in studying computer science and communications in 1994-1995.
