2.1 The student will
a) read, write, and identify the place value of each digit in a
three-digit numeral, using numeration models;
In this lesson/activity, the teacher or teaching assistant will need to
make sure that what is on the SMART table is also projected on the
screen so the whole class can see. Then the teacher(s) need to
acquaint themselves and the students to the basic functions of the
SMART Table that will be used. As well as any rules that the teacher
feels are appropriate during the activity. Before the interactive
activity, the teacher needs to freshen up the topic the students will
be presented with. :
1.) The teacher will go over the basics of place values.
2.) Place values terminology
Once the students are familiarized with the concept the teacher will

Once the activity is up, the teacher will collaborate with the
students showing them some of the activities working with place
values. Doing demonstration the teacher should be asking the
students questions like:
- How many sets of 10s do I need to create this number?
- What place is the number 6 in?
- How many single blocks do I need to complete the number?
- What number do you create when you add 600+40+8?
Once the teacher(s) believe that the students are capable to work
on the activity themselves.
- They are to be called in up to work an activity with the help
of their classmates.
During the activity there may be numbers that contain more than
three digits. If they appear see if the students are capable of
determining the place value and number. If not they are welcomed
to guidance from the teacher(s).
