Clinical Supervision Post-Observation Form

Reflection of the lesson and specifically to the components selected for

Domains 2 and 3:

What went well (Domains 2 and 3)?

In Domain 2B, creating a culture for learning, I feel that the all students were
aware of the high expectations set forth and worked hard to meet those expectation. One
example of high expectations was having students spell out fraction words correctly.
Many students went back to make revisions after it was brought to their attention.
Additionally, peers in the classroom worked to help each other complete the review
problems and encouraged their peers by saying things like good job to each other.
In Domain 3E, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness, I feel that I was able
to successfully differentiate instruction based on my math group rotations through
independent center work and small group instruction. I worked with individual students
to help guide them towards understanding when mistakes were made.

What did not go well (Domains 2 and 3)?

In Domain 2B, I am working towards students initiating their own improvements,

which is challenging to do with this age group. Often students just want to complete an
assignment and do not want to take the time to go back and check their work and make
any changes.

In Domain 3E, I do not feel as though my repertoire of instructional strategies is

extensive and for this lesson, the resources used were created by myself and not gathered
from other professionals in the school. With that being said, there are several times that I
do use resources from other teachers and make adaptations for them to best meet the
needs of my students.

Overall, I did feel as though the lesson was somewhat easy for my students to
complete. I had imagined it may have been more difficult, especially for my lower level
students. Although I had wanted something more challenging, I was able to see that my
students were ready to move forward with the rest of the fraction unit now that the
foundation was complete.

Consider the evidence that was highlighted on the Evidence Collection

Form. How did this lead you to your lesson assessment rating as you
highlighted on the Danielson Framework (Domains 2 and 3)?
For Domain 2B, there was evidence of high expectations and positive
reinforcement. Additionally, there was evidence of positive classroom environment
through teacher comments and actions to reinforce positive behaviors.

For Domain 3E, there was evidence of scaffolding and appropriate guidance
throughout the lesson for all students. Students were given differentiated instruction
through small group and center work was changed for each group.

Identify one area of strength and one area of need for Domain 1?

One strength is Domain 1B, demonstrating knowledge of students. This is

evidenced directly through the way that I have modified my math block to best
differentiate instruction. This allow me to better get to know my students needs and help
them to reach a level of understanding on a more individualized basis. The knowledge of
my students helps me to better plan for instruction as well.

One area for improvement is Domain 1A, demonstrating knowledge and

pedagogy. Due to this being my first year working with and teaching 3rd grade
curriculum, I feel as though I could improve upon understanding the concepts and
pedagogical approaches. Additionally, it is sometimes difficult to anticipate student
misconceptions when this is the first time teaching the concepts. As time progresses and
I have been exposed to and have taught 1 full year of curriculum, I certainly believe my
knowledge will increase. I think this is a pivotal part of teaching because in order to teach
the concepts at the students level, the teacher has to know the content at a much higher
level.

Be prepared to discuss the components of Domain 4 at the post

observation conference. In preparation, please reflect on all
components of Domain 4 on the evidence collection form.
