1st meeting of Fall 2016 semester

Focus: Student of the Week

-Every staff member nominates up to 5 students per week
-All nominated students would be recognized at the end of the month
-Teachers must have nominations in by Thursday at 4pm each week

Criteria:
Focus on tardies, profanity, and cell phones in class
< 1 tardies per week (across all classes)
No skipping class
No office referrals
No profanity in class

Ideas to implement in 2nd semester

Cell block
-school wide initiative to decrease office referrals for cell phones and decrease student
time in ISS for cell phone violations
-Teachers have a calculator holder where students will be assigned numbers and must
turn in their cell phones as an entrance ticket to class
If they say they dont have a cell phone and then are subsequently caught with one, an
office referral will be issued
Goal is to improve student engagement, decrease office referrals, the school wide
adoption will hopefully push student adoption of policy

Scholar Dollars or Viking dollars: Positive behavior points students can earn and then cash in
at a type of school store

Daily shout outs during afternoon announcements: teachers will submit a template to be read
during announcements recognizing students daily efforts in class/throughout school
