Concrete is strong in compression and weak in tension . difference between

strength in compression and tension is almost ten times. In Reinforced Concrete is
let the reinforcement resists to the tension force. That means prestressed use the
strong behavior of concrete and minimize the disadvantage of concrete.

Deflection limitation
Faster than rc
Longer span
Less or no expansion joint in prestress concrete than rc
Lower weight of slab( less expense in foundation and column)
