their demographics, benefits, committees, and offices.

Procedure:

1. In the News, Announcements, and Reminders (10 Min) Mr. Holley will examine the
current events and news stories
2. Organization of Congress PowerPoint (30-45 Min)- students will take notes on the
basic information dealing with the breakdown of Congress
3. Congressional Scavenger Hunt (20-25 Min)- students will take the opportunity to
research a particular member of Congress and answer questions based on their position,
home state, committees, and other information
4. Mr. Smith Goes to Congress (remainder) students will watch a film that has several
elements of Congress that tie in directly with lessons throughout the week
