Meditation

Meditation is a practice where an individual trains the mind or induces a mode


of consciousness.
The term meditation refers to a broad variety of practices that includes
techniques designed to promote relaxation,

meditation is derived from the Latin meditatio, meaning "to think, The Tibetan
word for meditation "Gom" means "to become familiar and has the strong
implication of training the mind. According to Buddhism this is the most
important thing we can do, and Buddhism teaches that it is the only real
antidote to our own personal sorrows. When our mind is peaceful we are free
and we experience true happiness.

Some of the earliest written records of meditation (Dhyana), come from the
Hindu traditions of Vedantism .With the growth of Japanese Buddhism from the

Dharma: it refers to the power which upholds the universe and society. dharma as the natural
universal laws whose observance enables humans , and to save himself from degradation.
Dharma is the "law of being" without which things cannot exist.

The om ; is a Hindu sacred sound that is considered the greatest of all mantras.
Thus Om envolve the essence of the entire universe. OM is a matrix of all
sounds. It refers to Atman and Brahman .The om is often found at the
beginning and the end in the Vedas
Japa mala : is a string of prayer beads. is how to keep track of the number of
repetitions of a mantra. At the end of this mala you can have a series of
filaments, which represent the wisdom of all the Buddhas, the correct way to
use a mala is with the right hand, Japa means "repetition" and mala means
"circle".
