Educational Philosophy Update

The teachers that inspired me the most were the ones that built positive relationships with

their students and created interactive lessons that made learning fun. As a teacher, I want to

create a comfortable learning environment where my students believe that I genuinely care about

their success. Teachers are more than just educators. They are role models, confidants, and

friends.

Successful learning takes place in a comfortable and supportive environment. A teacher

plays a big role in creating this environment. A teacher creates a comforting environment through

his or her attitude and classroom management. Rules and guidelines must be established to create

a structured schedule and order in the classroom. Without constant distractions, students can

focus on their work and learn. Not only should students create positive relationships with the

teacher, but they must build these relationships among themselves. Once students learn how to

effectively work with one another, they will feel more comfortable with sharing their ideas.

I have many outcomes for my students, but most importantly I want my students to

master concepts and know more than just facts. The outcomes I want for my students would

include to learn and master concepts and to reach their maximum potential. I would use

interactive, hands-on lessons to help achieve this mastery. Learning should be engaging and

student-centered. Every child has the ability to learn and succeed. Each student learns in their

own way, and it is important that the teacher allows students to best express their abilities in their

own way. It is the teachers responsibility to bring this success to the classroom.

Lastly in order for learning to be successful, a teacher must recognize when his or her

methods of teaching are working effectively. This is accomplished through assessments and

reflections. Teachers who reflect have a better understanding of how their students learn and

what changes need to be made in order to enhance student learning.
