Based Performance Questions (30 points)

Investigate how fast do different kinds of seeds germinate


Seeds from some kinds of plants germinate faster than seeds
from other kinds of plants. Even seeds from just one kind of
plant may germinate faster that other seeds from the same
kind of plant.

materials :
1. Paper towel and paper plate
2. Waxed paper and masking tape
3. 5 radish seed, 5 pinto seeds, 5 sunflower, 5 cord seeds.
4. Cup with water
5. Metric ruler
What to do :
1. Fold a paper towel in half.
2. Make 4 parts of paper and out the waxed paper on the plate. Put the
folded towel on the waxed paper. Put on the seeds. Wet the towel.
3. Put a plate in a warm and bright place
4. Observe and record the change.

Question:

1. Interpret the data you collected. Compare the radish and sunflower
seed. How did they grow and develop differently?
2. Collect the data by making a graph or chart to present the result in the
classroom.
