Vibe Productions wishes to commission a magazine article explaining the past

and current practices of video installation and the audience responses to
these.

You will need to write an article and then use Adobe InDesign to present the
information clearly and in an interesting layout. You must export your layout
as a PDF.

The final PDF must be uploaded to your Weebly website, under Unit 33, LO1 in
time for the deadline.

In your article you must include and discuss the following;

A minimum of three different installations

Past and current practitioners of video installation

How artists have used technology and techniques to install video

work

The installation styles which have artists used

Describe what narrative and non-narrative forms are. Explain

which of these each artist has used.

How has the space, where they have exhibited the work, created
meaning?

How do these installations relate to your own ideas for your own
work?

You must also be able to discuss the audience of these video

installations
o What is the nature of the audience?
o What are the audience responses to the installations?

You must include photos of the installation and refer to them in your
article.
Highest marks are achieved by;

Using reviews, written by critics, of the impact of the work, to back up

the points you are making.

When writing about the artists you will cover techniques

they used, their motivations, the exhibition context of the work,
and critical responses to the work.

You will explain what these artists have tried to

accomplish and how they have worked to try to achieve
what they have set out to do.

You will back up the points you make through

supporting arguments or evidence based on detailed
examples.

You will discuss specific details form the work drawing out
of an example precisely what it is about it that exemplifies the point
it illustrates.

You will be able to show similarities between certain works of

installation and discuss why this is the case. You will be able to make
links between similar installation techniques used by different artists.

Showing relevant details from the installations and explaining why you
are showing that particular clip/image. (The clips/image should back
up the points you are making)

Using technical vocabulary correctly. This includes spellings

of techniques / names / film titles
