Favourite Genre

Horror Action/Adventure Comedy Romance Sci-Fi

Crime Other

The majority of my recipients

stated that their favourite genre of film was action/adventure with 11 points, closely
followed by horror and crime with 9 points each. I tried to make my film according
to the respondents feedback, balancing action, crime and horror all into one.

In my questionnaire, the main

error I made with my questions
was that with questions with
an Other option, I forgot to
add a line or two to allow the
recipient to state their
favourite genre of film. I was
surprised by the number of
female recipients who chose
their favourite genre as horror
as, stereotypically, females
tend to prefer the romance
genre over more manly
genres like horror.

Out of all the recipients, 2 of them said that they liked a narrator to describe the
events on screen to the audience and 1 said:
Type of opening
Middle of the
Action
Introduce
Characters
Set the Scene
Narrator
other

Sometimes I like it because

you can understand whats happening but sometimes its good to start in the action
and let the audience understand As a result, due to this overwhelmingly negative
feedback on narrators, I chose not to use a narrator and instead chose to open in
the middle of the action with 6/9 of my crime recipients chose as their favourite
type of opening.

For question 10, one respondent had no #1 most important feature and others just
ticked the boxes or had 2 #1s which made my results a bit inaccurate as some
recipients maybe didnt understand the question. This means I will, in future
questionnaires, have to make my questions more simple and maybe not include
numbers as they could possibly confuse the recipients. Action and Story came out
as joint 1st for most important feature.
