I. INTRODUCTION

LISA JAYA Store is a pecah belah Store that selling household

equipment such as buckets, pots, spoons and the others. The owner is

Mr. Andi, he have been in this field for more than 10 years and still

survive today because he loved pecah belah field. His own shop

located in the area of Tubagus Angke which is pretty close to the major

vendors, Jembatan Lima area that most stores there are pecah belah

retails and LISA JAYA Store is one of the supplier of the goods that was

sold there. This is what makes me interested in interviewing Mr. Andi,

who is a distributor of a large factories like Nagako and also Mr. Andi is

an old player in this field.

3
II. IDEATION OF BUSINESS VENTURE

It was form the family business line, with direct links to these fields, Mr.

Andi can learn about the business from the zero, knows the ins and

outs and can quickly build a relationship with customers even before

the LISA JAYA Store was formed

In the area of Jembatan Lima, there are many stores that are similar to

LISA JAYA Store, but with the idea that he is selling his products semi

wholesale rather than retail or wholesale, Mr. Andi choose a place

which is a little bit further away from the business center and become

a distributor of goods from the factory to the various stores mainly in

the island of Java.

4
III. OPERATIONAL STRATEGIES AND FRAMEWORK.

Customers can order goods through the sales or call directly to the

store. The order will be noted, made purchase orders, prepare the

goods and sent to the customers either by trolley or motors (short

distance and few goods), truck (Medium Range) or expedition

(Distance far) but the expedition would normally be borne by the buyer

and in accordance with the wishes of the buyer. Lastly, payment was

made in cash or in demand deposits.

In other hand, Mr. Andi will start ordering goods from the manufacturer

or importer who is considerer to have better prices and in accordance

with the trends that exist today. After finding the desired goods, then

he will start to "accumulate" goods so that when the inventory begins

to decrease in the market then Mr. Andi will be a big profit from the

sale of goods.

5
IV. MARKETING AND SALES

"Customer is a game of trust."

This is the phrase I got during the interview with Mr. Andi in term of

many customers that are not trustworthy or not serious in running the

business because they can make us loss and deceived.

Customers who will be LISA JAYAs target are large retail stores or other

distributors who are in need of the goods, usually they will be directly

approached by sales to describe the goods being sold now and

attracting the customer so the will buy in large quantities.

Promo sometimes can be granted if a customer ordered in large

quantities and also depends on the frequency of the customer order.

6
V. FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE

Finance in this business is very unstable; trust has a great role in this

business because of the large amounts of money in a single

transaction. It takes more than just accuracy in regulating the entry-

exit of the goods and also managing the payment method that

sometimes uses demand deposits is really important. These matters

can make the capital to run out first due to the late payment so that

the customer need to be follow-up, especially if located in areas

outside Jakarta.

Prices of goods are always going up and down so, learning new trends

each month is very important for this business continuity. If the price is

down then Mr. Andi will enforce the "Oplos" system, for example there

are a dozen items that had been purchased for Rp 15,000, -but the

price down to Rp. 10.000, - and so the solution for this problem is to

buy more goods at the price Rp.10, 000, - and sold it at a price fixed

initial capital so there are still gains from the sale of goods.

7
VI. COMPANYS PARTNERSHIP AND NETWORK

For the time being, LISA JAYA Store does not have any cooperation with

the other stores, and it makes the freedom to sell any goods to any

store. The network was also limited to customers that are already

known and trusted. This is happening because it is quite difficult to

build trust, especially in terms of payment.

LISA JAYA Store also has a direct relationship with the factories and

importers so the prices may be cheaper than the others and of course

it is quite beneficial for Mr. Andi. But of course Mr. Andi must check

about the price of goods on the market first before buying form them

because sometimes, factory prices could be more expensive.

8
VII. EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE

Employees are not always good and experienced, so they should be

taught first. Additionally Mr. Andi impose a three times warning system,

because of that, I could say that Mr. Andi is very firm with his

employees. But of course, the hard work of his employees will not be

futile with their annual bonus they've been waiting for.

However, once again he must be careful with factors from within which

is, stealing. If the employees are not supervised while working, they

couldnt be honest and his things would be gone. Because of it, he is

firmly to the employees so that they can be loyal and work harder to

support the store.
