Dear Ms. Gionfriddo,

As a driven student with a passion for Nichols College and leading, I am very interested in
becoming an Orientation Leader. I will bring my passion for Nichols, my ability to lead, my desire
to assist, and my immense Bison Pride to the position.

My experience as a student going through orientation for the summer of 2014 was one of the most
impactful experiences Ive had at Nichols. I made a great connection with my orientation leader,
Andrew Haas. He was an immensely helpful mentor during my freshman year. I am also still
friends with many who were in my orientation group! I would love for incoming first-year students
to experience what I did.

Last year I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to be a fall Orientation Leader. This was an
amazing and humbling experience for me because I was able to answer questions, listen to
concerns, and talk about my time here on the Hill. I always see some of the students I had in my
group and it is wonderful to see what they have accomplished in such a small amount of time here.
One of the students that was in my group is now involved in student governmenta big factor I
tried to instill in them was the importance of getting involved. Now that I have acquired skills of an
orientation leader, I want to get the chance to get the full experience. I have always admired the
strong relationships that are made between all the Orientation Leaders and I would love to be a
part of that.

For the past three years I have been involved in student government. I started off being the class of
2018 secretary in my sophomore year, and in the same year I moved up to president where I served
for junior year as well. This election season, I was elected as the Student Government Association
President. Being involved in such an organization as SGA, I have gained the skills to collaborate
with other people, speak in front of fellow students and administration, and gain more knowledge
about Nichols College as a whole.

For the past three years I have also been working in the Marketing & Communications department
at Nichols. I started as a content developer, writing blogs for the Bison Chronicles, and now I am
the Student Assistant Coordinator. I am in charge of creating merit pages, and I also help organize
different marketing videos whether it be suggesting students, assisting with scripts, helping on
day of production, and post production.

With these skills, I know that I would make a great Orientation Leader for the incoming Bison. I
look forward to speaking with you in a formal interview to further discuss my qualifications.

Best regards,

Catherine Hoey
