Monitoring and Assessment

Diagnostic assessment: At the beginning of the unit I did for the students a diagnostic
assessment to know their prior knowledge about dinosaurs. Then It helped me to
plan further for the other lessons in the unit.
Formative assessment: I always write field notes during activity time; it helped me a
lot to record students difficulties to plan further for them. This type of assessment is
very important for the teacher and students.
Always monitor students and checking their work and understanding is important to
help them and help the teacher to know their needs.
Self-assessment: I always give them self-assessment and I found it very good
strategy to let students think about their own learning. Besides, it will help the
teacher to plan further for other lessons.
Formative assessment: Here is one example of the short quiz that I did for them after
the unit. It helps me a lot for planning for the revision and focusing on students
challenges about the lessons and their skills in English.
Summative assessment: Here is an example of the summative assessments from the
ministry and I coordinate with other English teachers to set the exam. Moreover, I
checked the exam and correct it and record the marks on the ministry website.
