Climate change is an international issue that effects not only the

United States but also many other countries in the world. I will explain how

climate change is an international issue, how countries are affected by global

warming as a whole, how the United Nations should band together to

hopefully find a solution to stop global warming and the climate agreement

with China. Global warming is an international issue that all countries have

faced in the past and upcoming decades, from glaciers melting to rapid

temperature changes, a hole in the ozone layer and many other issues. The

change in climate that one county might face does effect another country

and that is what makes global warming an international issue. The main

focus of global warming seems to be the melting of glaciers. This can cause

rising sea levels, avalanches caused by the melting of the glaciers and

sometimes the formation of small lakes. These outcomes from melting

glaciers impact not only the environment around them but it can also effect

the communities of people who reside where global warming is making a

large impact on their everyday lives and effects their ways of survival, The

warning will raise concern among those who say that glacier melting is one

of the greatest threats of climate chance because it raises the risk of sudden

avalanches of rocks and soil released from the ice, threatening the

livelihoods of more than 2 billion people who depend on melt- water to feed

rivers in summer (Joint). The United States recently settled on a climate

agreement with China, the new agreement holds countries accountable for

their share of pollution that might add to the causes of global warming.

China became a part of this agreement to help cut down on pollution that

might add to the rising problem of global warming. .. Chinas leaders, who

have vowed to cut coal consumption and draw 20% of the countrys energy

from non-fossil fuels by 2030, also deserved praise for the commitment to

cleaning up( (Phillips, Harvey and Yuhas) I think that each country is rapidly

adding to the cause of climate change, over the past month alone the United

States has been faced with high temperatures in February, then a few days

later it will snow and again it happened in March. Global Warming is defiantly

an issue that the world is going to be faced with, however it is becoming

more of a problem than it has been before. The United Nations as a whole

need to cut down on pollution made by each country. Encouraging countries

to use more environment friendly ways of transportation, using more

environment friendly gases and to cut down on pollution as a whole. The

nations might not be thinking that the view of climate change is somewhere

they should invest their money in and honestly I did not think so either, but it

is destroying our national treasures like Antarctica, our glorious mountains

that usually have snow covered peaks are no longer snow covered, it is

destroying the ecosystems that animals rely on to survive, taking away their

home and sometimes even their food resources putting their life at risk. We

are ignoring getting funding to prevent climate change because we dont

have the resources or the funding available . the larger reason were

ignoring climate change is that Al Gore was right: This truth is just too

inconvenient. Responding to climate change with the vigor that the threat

deserves would not, contrary to legend, be devastating for the economy as a

whole. (Krugman). I believe that the United Nations as a whole can conquer

climate change and produce ways that will stop climate change from

becoming a much bigger issue in the future.
