b. talk about the picture by responding correctly to at least 3 out of 4 Wh-

c. listen and circle correctly at least 4 out of 5 words.

Activities :

a. Introduction:
Class 1. Revise the phoneme /k/ by getting the pupils to recall the action for the phoneme
Year 1 /k/.
2. Tell pupils that the sound /k/ represents the grapheme c, k and ck.

b. Pre listening-speaking:
1. Introduce the phonemes /k/ and /e/.
TIME 2. Instruct pupils to do the actions for the phonemes. (refer to TB page 50)
3. Demonstrate how to sound the phonemes.
4. Get the pupils to listen, articulate the sounds, and perform the actions.
(60 minutes) 5. Show flashcards of objects that contain the phonemes /k/ and /e/.
6. Say the words. Get the pupils to repeat.

c. While listening-speaking:
1. Draw the pupils attention the picture. (TB page 49)
Attendance: 2. Ask these questions to the pupils.
Where is this?

What are the objects with ck sound?
Absent: What are the objects with e sound?
3. Guide the Linus pupils to answer the questions by pointing to the objects in the
picture.

d. Post listening-speaking:
1. Say any word aloud in each set.
2. Get the pupils to listen and repeat the words.
3. Mainstream: Pupils circle the words with /k/ and /e/ sounds. (AB page 53)
4. Linus: Guide the pupils to circle the words with the /k/ and /e/ sounds with pictures
guidance.

d. Closure:
1. Play the game I Spy and get the pupils to point to the objects in the classroom.
