UNIT TOPIC AND LENGTH:
In this Unit, students will understand the important events that took
place after WWI, especially events that took place in Georgias role
after WWI.
This unit should last between 5 8 days

A. Describe the impact of boll weevil and drought on Georgia
B. Explain economic factors that resulted in the Great Depression
C. Discuss the impact of the political career of Eugene Talmadge
D. Discuss the effect of the New Deal in terms of the impact of the
Civilian Conservation Corps, Agricultural Adjustment Act, rural
electrification, and Social Security

BIGIDEAS/ENDURING ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS:

UNDERSTANDINGS:
How has Georgia has evolved
Students will see how Georgia, from WWI into present day?
specifically, was effected as a
result of WW1
Students will understand the
negative and positive effects
that WWI had on the economy
as a while.
Students may not understand
how much of an impact WWI
had on Georgia alone, thus
understanding the big picture
of the effect WWI had on the
entire country.

CONTENT:
Students will gain knowledge of
the Roaring Twenties, and the
negative economic effect that
this time ended up having on
America.
SKILLS:
Through analyzation and
critical thinking, students will
develop a better understanding
of how environmental factors
and certain programs can have
a negative effect on the

LEARNING PLAN & ACTIVITIES:

Through differentiated instruction, I will be sure each student gains
a clear understanding of this unit and the effects of it.
Students will receive a concept map to fill out throughout the entire
unit, students will watch documentaries, create podcasts, and
diaries to better develop a sense of understanding.
Throughout the unit, students will present projects, read diaries, and
take quizzes to show me that they are gaining a great
understanding of the unit.
Students will understand how to think critically and analyze through
creative writing. Students will also develop a better sense of
managing technology.
Because there will be a wide variety of differentiate instruction, all
students should have a clear understanding of this unit. For any
child who needs help understanding the material, I will develop
homework lesson plans for them to better understand
