Center-wide Policies and Procedures

Field Trips
In order for children to attend fieldtrips parents must sign a
permission form.

Fire and Tornado Drills


Fire
Evacuate immediately at the closest exit.
When leaving the building make sure to close al doors
and windows.
If there is smoke crawl low to the floor.
Meet at designated area.
Account for all staff and children
Use roster and do a head count.

Find small interior room or hallway on lowest floor.
Stay away from doors and windows.

Meals and Snacks


Our classrooms will have Morning snack, lunch and afternoon
snack. We ask that you provide your child with its own lunch to
accommodate for these eating times.

By signing and returning the form below you grant Little Daisys
Preschool the right to take photos of your child.

Guidance and Socialization Policy

Discipline Policy

Little Daisys Preschool believes in problem solving approach to


discipline and encourage children to work through their problems.
If a child displays negative or unacceptable behavior, they will be
redirected. If it occurs again they will be ask to take a break
from what they are doing to think about the choices they have
made.

Parents in the Program

Daily Communication

Parents will be given the opportunity to communicate daily with


their childs teacher during pickup and drop off times.

Mandated Reporter

If there is any suspected child abuse by Little Daisys Preschool or


its teachers we have the right to report it.

Newsletters and Other Forms of Communication

Each month teachers will hand out a Newsletter to parents. The


Newsletter will include out weekly themes and what we will be
learning about. It will include special events and/or holidays. As
well as parent tips. Teachers will also fill out a daily form to pass
out to parents as way of communicating about everything we did
throughout the day.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

If a parent wishes to have a parent/teacher conference with


their childs teacher to discuss their childs learning and
development, they can do so through the front office.

Parent Input

Each month we will be having parent involvement. This is an


important part of your childs growth and development and we
encourage parents to attend.

Health and Safety

Accident Procedure
In the event of an accident and accident report will be written
up. To whom the form will be given to will be stated, as well as
the childs name, the date and time of the accident, the type of
injury, where the injury occurred on the body, a description of
what happened and what care was given.

Children with Special Needs

Disabled children will have the equal opportunity to do as others


do.

Emergency
Caregiver will keep injured child calm and still.
Caregiver will contact the front office.
A decision whether or not to call 9-1-1 will be made.
Parents will be contacted.
If necessary child will be transported to the hospital
by ambulance accompanied by a caregiver.
If injury is minor parent will be contacted and will be
informed of the injury and their instructions will be
followed.

Hand Washing Policy

Hand Washing Procedure


1. Wet your hands with warm running water.
2. Turn off the water.
3. Apply soap.

4. Lather your hands by rubbing them together and cleaning
the back of your hands, in-between fingers and under nails.
5. Lather for AT LEAST 20 seconds.
6. Rinse your hands with clean running water.
7. Dry your hands.

When Hand Washing Procedure Should Be Used

Children
Before meals, snacks, or food preparation experiences.
After toileting or diapering.
When soiled.

Providers
Prior to starting the workday at the center.
Prior to care of children.
Before preparing and serving food and feeding children.
Before giving medication.
After each diapering.
After using the toilet or helping a child use the toilet.
After handling bodily fluids.
After handling garbage.
When soiled

Please do not send your child to school if they have had any of
the following in the last 24 hours:

Medication Policies

If a child needs medication while in school regulations are as


followed:

o Original Prescription Label


o Container must have childs name
o The parent must sign permission form
o Medication must be properly stored
o Directions how to administer must be followed
