Similarities:

-Both solved their problems with violence.

-Both had a white straight male saving a woman.

-Both women were in fact saved

-Both men in each movie was only trying to save the women, they did not really care about anyone else

Gender in Suicide squad & Cinema

The Action-adventure movie similarly centers on male protagonists becoming


mythic masculine heros through amazing journeys or quests. (America on film,

-Women tend to act needy and helpless. or are viewed as sexualized objects
throughout cinema.

-Women are also easily persuaded

-Women are seen as more oblivious

-The asian girl (Katina),a ninja in the movie fills the stereotype of the Inscrutable
oriental stereotype. She is quiet and mysterious throughout most of the movie.

Suicide squad and Disability
-Relates to the movie (Temple Grandin 2010) The main character had to learn to live
a life, a lot of times struggling and wasnt always accepted.

-In action movies, Monsters are often disabled people.

-Their super-natural abilities stops them from living normal lives, like el diablo and
his fire rage. And the croc man.
