Wilmington University/Letter of Recommendation

United Way of Delaware (UWDE) was pleased to partner with Wilmington University and host
Kayla Fuller for her winter 2017 graduate-program internship. During her practicum, Kayla
worked with the Community Engagement Division specifically around our Foundation for
Educational Success/Campaign for Third Grade Reading a key strategic focus area of UWDE.
Kayla was instrumental in building out the tools needed for our brand new Reading Angels
Initiative. She helped with research, testing, made recommendations, demonstrated/trained on
the tool and even executed upon the same with excellence. This Sign-Up Genius tool has now
become part of our engagement framework thanks to Kayla and will serve as a convenient and
effective tool for us to further engage volunteers at various locations, times, and counties across
Delaware as we promote the love of reading!

In addition to being reliable, professional, and presenting quality work, we appreciated Kaylas
positive attitude, bright smile, and demonstration through her hard work and patience throughout
the project/initiative formative period the importance of human services to Promising
Communities. We enjoyed having a front-row seat to view Kaylas personal and professional
growth. She was a true team player ensuring even last minute needs were taken care of across
the department if/when asked. It was a privilege to have Kayla among our team to experience
inside and out what it means to create collective impact from the United Way network lens.
Though the process, she gained a better understanding UWDEs mission, vision, goals, programs,
initiatives and services and will forever be a champion of UWDE and our team/staff. We are
grateful that Kayla selected UWDE her mission of choice!
