STEPHEN KING

Stephen King was born in Maine to a single Mother and had a very traumatizing childhood
even seeing his friend being struck by a train, which some people say inspired his thriller
work. He is a polymorphous writer and has written in genres such as historical fiction,
science fiction, and literary short stories. He is very important to us because of his use of
many forms of genres which helps us better progress our own literary work.

#3 STYLE

Xiaofei: The ear doctor smiled reassuringly and spoke the lie for which doctors should be
immediately jailed (time of incarceration to be doubled when the lie is told to a child): Relax,
Stevie, this wont hurt. (24)

I was late for school for about a week (even I cant believe the teachers still accepted me as
a student) and my desk was put aside and tons of new textbooks were on it. It was a mess.

Saleh: (Uncle Oren, to whom this Evil Cinderblock surely belonged, is almost 20 years
dead) (page 19) The insertion of the parenthesis is somewhat of an afterthought and works
to provides subtle humour. This also gives some insight into the true nature and feelings of
the narrator and cannot be passed over because they provide more meaning to the
sentence.

Annais: (no beer for Fred, and not much in the way of conviviality, either; he was a crewcut
daddy who was proud of driving his convertible with the top up, God knows why) (p.19)
it was funny how we, 11 year old kids, got locked up in school that morning during summer
break. (we met the school guard on the first floor and he started yelling at us when we were
just playing in the classroom)

Joseph: I lay in bed drinking cold water and imagining my throat in alternating stripes of red
and white (this was probably not so far wrong) (22) added information about what was he
thinking about this illness stripe throat adding information with humor.
I told my friends that I found a aliens airship last night on our playground.(Everyone should
relate this about what weird ideas can pop up in a 6-year-old kids mind)

For the first time in my life, I heard about there are much more space beyond our earth.
There are much unknown space. These space are mysterious. Since then, a seed of a kids
love of science was planted in the heart.
