Reflection

For my final presentation the topic I chose was immigration, I want to educate my

audience about the many struggles that immigrants face when they are here in the United States.

I feel like there are a lot of misconceptions and bad assumptions about immigrants when they are

in hard situations. For this presentation I want to bring some light to challenges that may be

hidden in the shadows for some people. I believe that instead of just judging and victim blaming

immigrants for their hardships, people should understand why they are in a certain situation.

Because there are many challenges that immigrants face that they have no control over, if people

understood and made an effort to find out their stories there wouldnt be so many fallacies about

them. Every immigrant is here for a purpose whether its to work or to get an education they are

here because they want the American Dream and they know that its possible with hard work.

They dont just come here for a new scenery. As a daughter of immigrant parents, I know how

difficult it is to leave your native country to come to a new country where you are frowned upon

for only wanting to provide your family with better opportunities. I hope that with this

presentation people will be more understanding and open minded about the challenges that

immigrants face in the United States.
