The school is currently under construction and expected to start operations in the year 2018. The school
aims to be a leadership academy for promising students from underserved communities and will serve
1000 students from grades 6-12 by 2020. The objective of the school is to empower students with
knowledge, skills and character traits to be lifelong learners and leaders. The school intends to follow
the Cambridge/ IB curricula for higher grades.
Role
The School Leader (Principal) is responsible for setting a powerful vision for student achievement and
motivating others to follow that vision, and strategically implementing the schools mission through
effective leadership and management of the schools students and staff. Their leadership will result in
an instructional program and school environment that prepares every student for success in college
and in life.
Responsibilities
1. Instructional Leader
a. Recruit and build a strong team of motivated, passionate teachers
b. Provide instructional leadership, management and curriculum support
c. Ensure that the school curriculum aligns with the priorities and objectives of the school
d. Monitor classroom instruction and provide timely and regular feedback to teachers to
improve their practice
e. Develop professional development plans for teachers
f. Analyze assessment data and set goals for continuous improvement in student
achievement
3. Staff Management
a. Recruit and build a strong team of administrative and support staff
b. Define clear expectations for staff performance
c. Observe, monitor, provide frequent feedback and performance reviews
d. Provide professional development and growth opportunities
e. Ensure admin and staff view their role as critical in building future leaders and feel valued
parts of the school community
