One of the highlights of my teaching career at Garza Independence High School

is having Leticia Martinez as a student in my English class. Right at the onset, I knew
Leticia is exceptional. Quiet and reserved, her outward calm disguised a passionate and
fiercely independent nature. I have never encountered a student as personally invested
in and as highly motivated by learning as Leticia. More than any other student I have
known, Leticia has an incredible drive to learn, produce quality work, and succeed in
class. Leticia is simply outstanding.

Throughout her high school career, learning has been a great motivating force
for Leticia. She is excellent in her attendance and in her work, consistently coming to
class early, ready and eager to take on the days challenges. Academically talented and
mature beyond her years, Leticia takes responsibility for and responds with enthusiasm
to any work and assignment that she encounters in her lessons. For Leticia, no task is
daunting enough to deter her. A prolific reader, she loses herself in a book and is
captivated by the magic of literature. As a competent writer, she is highly original,
creative, and insightful. In the two years that I have known her, I have had the pleasure
of watching her blossom to maturity as a reader, writer, and a learner. I have witnessed
how her communication skills have improved and how her knowledge of literature has
expanded as she added to her storehouse of learning. Above all her many talents in
English communication arts, Leticia is a cheerful learner who values education who is
committed to outstanding human being who genuinely cares for others and is willing to
go above and help those in need.

I have immensely enjoyed teaching Leticia because she has produced many of
the most compelling written work that I have read from a student. I also find it
satisfying that her work in English has enabled her to produce superior written
compositions and writing portfolios that have solidified her intent to pursue writing in
college, and hopefully, as a career. I am certain that Leticia will continue her triumphs
as she forges ahead on the path of her calling. For these reasons, I am happy to give
Leticia Martinez my highest recommendation.
