This digital resource bank was designed by the Reading Leadership Team at
Gunnison High School in Spring of 2017. The contents of this resource bank are
for the use of Gunnison High School teachers and support staff who are carrying
out Tier II/III reading intervention programs in their respective classrooms.

A Maze reading assessment is a task that measures how well students
understand the text they read silently (CORE, 2008).

Oral Reading Fluency
These (curriculum-based measures) are designed to sample a students oral
reading fluency and may be used up to three times a year. The results of the
screening can help determine if there is reason to further explore student
educational needs or to adult curriculum or instruction, (CORE, 77).

ORF Instructions
San Diego Quick Assessment of Reading Ability
This test measures the recognition of words out of context. Generally, proficient readers read as
accurately both in and out of context. This test consists of 13 graded word lists from preprimer to
eleventh grade. The words within each list are of about equal difficulty.

In addition to the Core Vocabulary Screening, which is designed to measure how well students
