Program Goal and Objectives - Breast Cancer

Timeline: Starting October 1st, 2016 until October 1st, 2017.

Goal: Increase participation and awareness of the benefits of regular breast cancer screening
(mammography, clinical breast examination, and self examination) amongst African American
women ages 20 and older in Los Angeles County.

Process Objectives:
1. Each month, 50 women will be provided 4 educational sessions to learn about various topics
regarding breast cancer.
2. Of the 50 women participating in the breast cancer educational sessions, 25 (50%) will sign up
for an appointment for a mammogram or clinical breast examination each month.
3. By the end of each month, a minimum of 25 program participants (50%) or more will become
more knowledgeable in breast self examination.

Impact Objectives:
4. Learning: Increase awareness of breast cancer risk factors and preventative measures among
90% (540) of participants
5. Learning: Of the 600 women enrolled in an entire year, 450 (75%) will have the knowledge
of all general information of breast cancer.
6. Environment: Provide all program participants with referrals to free or low-cost screenings.

Outcome Objective:
7. By October 2017, at least 300 (50%) participants will have obtained breast cancer screening.
