To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter strongly recommending Ms. Samantha Franklin as a Social Studies/History teacher in your
school. I am a University Supervisor at Arizona State University, and have the pleasure of supervising Ms. Franklin
during her student teaching in World History at Mesa High School in the Mesa Unified School District. Ms.
Franklin has experienced the full complement of teaching during her tenure. She collaborated closely with her
mentor teacher, and with all her peers at the school. She embraced all areas of responsibilities in her classroom.
Based on my interactions and observations of Ms. Franklin, I am pleased to recommend her as a teacher.

Ms. Franklin is a well-organized, well-prepared teacher. She plans and implements interesting lessons that are
well-paced, challenging and that support the curriculum and standards. She is very thorough and meticulous in
her planning, and develops remarkable, creative lessons for her students. She makes good use of her
instructional time through strong time management and planning. She keeps her students engaged and attentive
throughout her lessons. She is quite strong at incorporating technology into her teaching.

Ms. Franklin has excellent classroom management skills. Her high level of planning and preparation set the tone
for focus and achievement. She insures that all students are engaged and participating in each lesson. She has
students actively engaged, both individually and in group settings throughout each lesson. She is comprehensive
and includes challenging work in her planning, and she has very high expectations for her students. Her students
are intrigued and work hard to meet her expectations. She provides focused feedback and support to students to
achieve their learning goals.

Ms. Franklin has been a strong team member in her student teaching tenure. She works collaboratively with all
teachers in her department, and is looked upon more like a peer than a student teacher. Ms. Franklin is keenly
interested in continuing her learning, and readily utilizes any suggestions or ideas she receives. She works very
closely with her colleagues to foster a collaborative learning environment for students.

I see Ms. Franklin as a strong young educator who is motivated to do an excellent job teaching students. She is
bright, well-spoken, and very capable. I recommend her without hesitation for a teaching position in your school.
