Step 1 - Cutting the Tube for the Body

Outer diameter 90mm.

Inner diameter 86mm.

Used length, 300mm.

1. Measure 300mm along the pipe and mark around the circumference.
2. Use a square ruler to help keep the line perpendicular to the base.
3. Cut along marked line using cross cut bench shown in picture step 1, if
someone experiences using this tool that would be great, if not use a handsaw,
which is much easier and safe.

Step 2 - Drill Axle

Step 2 Drill axle through the tube:

1. Mark out the 4 axle holes with the centre 20mm in from the edge of the pipe.
Note these marks must be accurate for the axle to fit through the tube.

2. Clamp the pipe to a surface and etch a mark where the axle holes are shown
(Step2a). Note This makes it easier to drill as it bites into the tube instead of
trying to slide off. Drill. Step2b shows the leftover gunk on the drill bit, this
should be cleaned off between each use. Use Stanley knife to smooth the
edges.

Step 4 Drilling the viewing holes/top section

1. The bottle loading hole in the prototype is 9mm in from the outer edge of the
pipe.

2. Mark the guidelines and the length that needs to be removed for the bottle to
just fit in (result shown in Step 4c) and drill the corners out, as previously
explained (mark surface, then drill) Refer to the Step4 pictures

3. Repeat this process for the viewing hole on the other side of the model.

2. (another drawing reference)
a. Load 3/8 washer onto axle with smooth side facing away from the body.
b. Load wheel onto axle, flush to the washer.
c. Load second 3/8 washer onto axle with smooth side facing towards the
body, flush to the wheel.
d. Load nylock nut onto axle, tighten until flush with second washer.
e. Repeat for each protruding section of axle.
3. Tension the front axle by adjusting the nylock nuts on either side so both
wheels roll freely without rattling.
4. Repeat step 3 for the rear axle.

3.0 Detailed Criteria

3.1 Capability
Sufficient personal protective equipment (PPE) and tooling to construct the project:
It is essential for outstanding tenderers to have the appropriate equipment to handle
the project. As shown above, the ideal contractors should guarantee that they are
equipped with both the workwear and tools.

3.2 Risk Management
A brief, systematic and scientific risk management plan is required:
The winning tenders is expected to meet the requirement that a well-structured risk
management plan covering hazards, risks, severities, likelihoods, mitigations and risks
residual should be provided to alleviate the potential risks.

3.3 Safety Environment
1. A spacious, appropriate workplace:

When it comes to the workplace, whether the tenders select an appropriate
workplace it is to be considered as an important factor to the successful protptype.
Hence, a typical selection on the workplace is supposed to be a garage, garden or
backyard etc.

2. Good storage of the equipment and workings:

More importantly, it needs to be assured that the equipment and workings are
stored properly without damage or leaking in case of unexpected lost occurring. The
tenderers should restrict them to only authorized access allowed.

3.4 Experience

- Experience in sawing objects

During the construction process, multiple sawing tools are required to use, such
as handsaw, jigsaw and cross-cut bench saw. Tenders are asked to drill holes on a
300mm pipes and it needs a high skill or knowledge level of using these sawing
tools. Misusing sawing tools can lead to extreme injuries. Successful tenderers
should have a proven experience on using sawing tools.

- Experience in working as a team

Red Planet Industries is expecting tenders have a great team work on our project.
Successful tenderers should show prior experience specific on working on a
vehicle or similar project as a team.

3.5 Communication

- Corporate capability

Red Planet Industries 22

Tenderers should show a good oral skill and representation. Successful tenderers
should able to clarify and express their ideas through emails, text massages,
meetings. The ideal circumstance is no misunderstanding between Red Planet
Industries and tenderers and sharing the same thought.

- Teamwork
To keep the project on schedule, a successful teamwork is required. Each
tenderer should know their own position clearly. Moreover, every tenderer
should be following the group agreement, which all
tenderers have agreed on, during the whole project.

3.6 Time management

Punctuality is an outstanding criterion that Red Planet Industries are looking for a
successful tender. Tenderers should submit the vehicle and attend meetings on time.
For keeping Red Planet Industries updated, tenderers also require replying our emails
within 24 hours. Only reasonable reasons are accepted for being late to meetings or
failing attend meetings and reply email on time. Tenderers need to inform Red Planet
Industries a day before the meeting, if they want to change the meeting time.
