Black Isle Showground, Muir of Ord.

RULES OF COMPETITION

1. All animals shall have been the property and been in possession of the Exhibitor previous
to 28 May 2017 and up to the date of the Show.

2. Each animal can be entered in ONE SECTION ONLY unless otherwise clearly stated on the
Schedule.
3. Exhibitors are specially asked to ensure that their animals are entered in the proper
section.
4. Any section for mare in foal - foal must be born before 1st September 2017.
5. Highland, Ridden and Working Hunter horses etc must be on the Showfield by 8.30am with
judging starting at 9am prompt. All other exhibitors must be on the field by 9.30am for judging
commencing at 10am prompt. The running order can be changed on the day to ensure
competitors can compete in as many sections as requested. However, classes will not be held for
entrants ie: You must choose your preference if classes clash! No exhibits can be removed
BEFORE 3pm but the Showground must be clear of all stock by 6pm.
6. Exhibitors must display Catalogue Numbers on Horses, Cattle and Goats when being
judged.
7. There will be no equal prizes awarded.
8. Very Highly Commended, Highly Commended and Commended tickets will be awarded at
the Judges discretion.
9. The decision of the Judges will in all cases be final. Any protests by Exhibitors must be
lodged, in writing, with the Secretary by 3.00 pm on the day of the Show.
10. Attendants of prize-gaining animals must be in readiness to bring their Exhibits into the ring
for judging and parade when called by Attendant Members.
11. Entry Fees: Sections 1 - 46 4.00, Sections 50 -114 3.00, and Sections 115 191 2.00,
per entry. A tent will be provided for the Poultry, Rabbits and Cavies cages. Jumping Competition
Fees are shown on the appropriate forms.
12. Pony registration numbers must be given with entry form. THIS RULE WILL BE STRICTLY
ENFORCED.
13. Where appropriate, M V A must be shown on Entry Form, so the relevant pens can be
planned. All relevant certificates to be either sent with entries, or handed to Stewards at the
beginning of Show Day.
14. All entries MUST BE RECEIVED by 20th June 2017. Entries returned after this date will not
be accepted or included in the catalogue
15. There is no compulsory dipping this year, but in the interest off ALL exhibitors it is
recommended that all sheep are dipped prior to Show, with a scab approved dip.
16. ATTENDANT MEMBERS duties are to escort the Judges, note awards given in writing and
place rosettes on winning entries. In the event of a query from the Judge, the Attendant Member
is expected to consult another member of the Committee.
17. Poultry Competition run under Poultry Club Rules.
18. SHEEP SECTIONS Each Judge will put forward the Best Entry from all their sections.
Overall Sheep Champion will be awarded on a points system by the Sheep Judges.
CATTLE SECTIONS Overall Cattle Champion will be agreed by the Cattle Judges.
19. Due to limited space in the marquee only Judges and stewards will be allowed in the
Poultry, Rabbits and Cavies marquee during judging.
20. There will be a photographer on the field during Show day. Any competitor not wishing to
be photographed should lodge their details with the Show Secretary by 8.45am on the day of
the competition, at the Secretaries portacabin.

Show Regulations
The Show will be held under KC rules (15, 16, 18 and 22) and show regulations.
Judging will start at 2.00 pm prompt and no dogs will be received after that time.
The committee will not be responsible for the loss, detention of, or damage to any dog or any
property by any cause whatever, nor for the absence from the field at the time of judging of any
dog and/or handler.
The committee reserves the right to refuse, on reasonable grounds, any entries.
Entry fee 2.00 per class and must be submitted with entry forms.
Unbeaten Dogs from classes 1 - 5 will be eligible for Best in Show.
