Math Students will review previous concepts from throughout the year.
Science - Students will continue studying sink and float.
Reading 5.RN.3.2 Compare and Contrast the organizational structure of events, ideas, concepts, or information in 2 or
more texts, 5.RN.2.2 Determine 2 or more ideas of a text. Explain how main ideas are supported by key details,
5.RV.2.1 Select and apply context clues and text features to determine the meaning of unknown words, 5.RN.4.1
Explain how an author uses claims and evidence to support claims in a text. (We will be reading paired passages of
nonfiction and then comparing them! This week we will be using Time for Kids Magazine in class and online. We will
read Animal House, and Gorilla Patients.
Social Studies We will begin learning about economics. We will continue to learn about supply & demand, the five
money myths, and tips for kids on how to negotiate. On Friday we will discuss the importance of saving money and
how to successfully save.
Writing -We will continue with our Bottle Biography projects that will be due by May 12th. This week students
completed a timeline on their persons life, took research notes, and began a google slideshow. Next week we will
connect our spelling to our writing as we prepare to gear up for Field Day. Students will have lessons on
sportsmanship on and off the field!
Spelling - Test on Friday.
