REPAIR PROCEDURE

I/ PURPOSE:

- To guide peoples repair cooling circulation pump casing at STT FFD platform.
- To ensure that casing pump will be repair properly and safety.

II/ SCOPE OF APPLICATION

The procedure only apply for cooling circulation Pump

IV/ WORK ARRANGEMENT AND SAFETY ANALYSIS
- Workflow have to strictly flow HSE rules for oil and gas standard especially in
offshore working condition reference as CLJOC safety rules.
- Repair procedure must be approve by CLJOC/PTSC MC before start.

1. Permit to work and system isolation

- Arrange permit to work as per CLJOC required for pump repair work

- Isolation system: switch off power supply, de-pressure and ventilation in pipeline
in pump system. Take out all of instrument equipment from package.

2. Measurement before start

- Set up tools & alignment checking before remove pump, record and save.

3. Pump removed and packing

- Remove all pipes, tubes & instrument equipment

- Remove nuts of mounting bolts of pump side, lift out pump from package.

- Blind of suction and discharge pipeline by plastic cover and tape to prevent
falling object.

- Packing pump ready to ship to onshore workshop

4. Pump disassemble for investigation

- Loosing casing bolts, remove whole pump rotor


Note:
Vendor consider to remove painting from outside surface
- Cleaning whole casing by cleaner of casing ( by blasting...) before carry out 100% visual
inspection & perform NDT investigation.
- Visual inspection hole on casing where SPX/TTE to prepare all thing for re-paint the casing as
leaked
per approved procedures.

- NDT check whole casing to find out any more defects or cracked on casing

- Make general report for casing damaged

5. Casing repairable assessment

- Base on NDT reported and visual inspected results, the casing repairable or it
may have to replace will be determine by SPX/ TTE/ CLJOC/ PTSC MC

- If casing can be repair then send to repair, if not casing will be replace by new
one.

6. Casing repair

After NDT inspection, casing defected was found may happen in 02

a) Only exiting hole it may casting defect

- In this case, we will grind hole for bigger (diameter from 1,5 to 2 hole diameter),
remove all the rust
thickness of casing repair segment shall be determined and record
- Tig welding in both side in and out with the size of welding deeper than casing
thickness and bigger than hole diameter.

- Grinding both inside and outside casing surface to make smooth surface like
original condition.
Pls specify the NDT methods will be applied in this case(MPI/DPI & RT..)?

- NDT for checking welding area


PWHT shall be in accordance with the procedure qualification used, refer ASTM A216
- Plating this area by electro plating with Ni-Cb alloy for prevent any chemical
effect or corrosion. 1. Please indicate the reference Code/
STD where is allowed the large defect
can be insert plate by welding?
b) Big area was corrosive by chemical where around the hole ( ASME/ASTM -A216, API...?)
2. What is material specification of the
plate, It's MTC shall be provided?
- In this case, we have to cut off whole corrosive area.

- Arrange steel plate as same material with casing and same dimension with hole
we made by cutting before.

- Tig welding this plate to casing and then grinding welding line get smooth for
surface
Pls specify the NDT methods will be applied (MPI and RT)?

- NDT for checking welding area

PWHT shall be done in accordance with the procedure qualification used, refer ASTM A216

- Please specify the test pressure & holding time or address

- TTE shall double check and confirm the availability of "blind
casing dummy" for pressure test.REPAIR PROCEDURE

- In the last, we plating this area by Ni-Cb alloy by electro plating method for
prevent corrosion in future.

C) After repaired, casing will be hydrostatic test in workshop witness by CLJOC/ PTSC
MC with pressure test and duration as per manufacture standard

7. Casing assemble and packing send to offshore

- Cleaning impeller and shaft free from dust.

- Putting new gasket to casing and install back pump rotor and bearing housing.
Tight the casing bolts while pump rotor was hold in perpendicular with pump
casing.

- Slowly turn shaft by hand, make sure rotor free turn without touching and
abnormal noise.

- Packing pump by wooden box ready send to offshore

Note: New mechanical seal also replace before casing assemble.

8. Pump installation

- Remove suction and discharge pipe cove, clean the flange.

- Re-install all pipes, tubes & instrument equipment

- Alignment pump and motor as per manufacture standard

- Connect coupling between pump and motor

9. De-isolated, restart and hand over

- Open discharge and suction vales, fill up pump by full water ready to restart,
closed permit to work.

- Checking lube oil level, closed drain line.

- Start pump, keep monitoring around 4h and record operation data: pressure,
temperature, vibration.

- After 04 hours normal running, hand over to operation team and close the job.

10. Reported

All record and report during repair process will be summit later on that:

- Pump investigation report including the recommended disposition/corrective solution by TTE/SPX.

- Casing repair report


- MTC of the insert plate, casing & welding rod/welding consumable
- Measurement (alignment before and after) report

- NDT (before and after repair) report


- Post-weld heat treatment report and chart record
- Hydrostatic test report

- Operation value after repair report


- Warranty confirmation letter/certificate from SPX & TTE after repair

- The approved Repair Method/procedure attached all related docs e.g WPS/PQR/WPQ, NDT, pwht procedure &
facility calib certificate, ...reference STD/Code
