OUR PURPOSE
I
n response to the need in the
Fairmont-Marion County community
for preschool services, Baptist Temple
Preschool provides a non-profit program for
children who are three and four years old.
The program emphasizes a non-
denominational, Christian setting. Spiritual,
social, physical, mental, emotional and
creative growth is fostered in a semi-
structured setting.
Children are admitted to the program
without regard to race, creed or nationality,
and are entitled to all available privileges,
programs and activities.
To help children begin to understand the role
of God in their lives.
To help children develop a good self image.
To provide an opportunity for children to play
and learn with other children their own age.
To encourage each childs creativity.
To develop pre-school skills in math and
reading.
To develop fine and gross motor skills.
To provide a supportive and nurturing
atmosphere for pre-school children, their
parents, guardians and families.
To serve the Fairmont-Marion County
community in many outreach activities,
thereby teaching children by example the
importance of service to others.
CURRICULUM
As a student at Baptist Temple Preschool,
your child will be exposed to many enjoyable,
developmental and educational experiences.
Our curriculum consists of the development of
social and self-awareness skills; Bible studies;
music, arts and crafts; large and small motor
skill development; recognition of colors,
shapes, numbers and the alphabet; learning
the days of the week, months of the year and
the seasons. Our four-year-old program has
an additional focus toward kindergarten pre-
paredness. Our curriculum is reinforced by
community service projects, field trips and
occasional classroom visitors.
