ne of the most dynamic, exciting young musicians in San
Francisco, Daria Shani Johnson rolls with a rock solid, sensual
style that has made her one of the most sought-after drummers in the
Bay Area. Her inviting grin, steadfast professionalism and infectious
energy have fueled countless sessions and performances. Her wide
range of skills on top of her always on-time drumming finds her
moving into more and more creative areas all the time, including
stints with Esperanza Spalding, Pamela Rose, London Street,
Eoin Harrington, Cava Menzies, Jonathan Richman, Ruth Davies,
Angeline Saris, Tammy L. Hall, Tea Leaf Greens Trevor Garrod, ALOs
Dan Lebowitz and Adam Theis of the Jazz Mafia, to name a few.
A Berklee College of Music grad, Daria is an accomplished singer, songwriter, arranger and producer,
making her as well-rounded a musician as one can find. Comfortable plying her craft in anything
from jazz to orchestral to rock, blues, funk and beyond, Daria Shani Johnson is a modern driving
force who is ready to take on any creative endeavor. She has toured the USA, Europe and New
Zealand sharing the stage with various musical groups and artists. She is currently a member of
Pamela Roses Blues Is A Woman a theatrical concert that celebrates women blues artists and
also pursuing her own musical project Daria Johnson 4, which performs around the Bay Area.
