Post Reflection/Analysis

After completing this lesson plan, I found there were many things that went well, and many aspects I could re-think as

well. This lesson went very well because the students that participated were engaged by the many different fabrics they were able to

choose from to create their book. I also think the students enjoyed this lesson because they were able to take ownership of creating

their own book. What went well with this lesson was that the students were engaged and were also given many choices to make their

own creation. The students were able to choose any colors they liked for the pages of their book, and choose whichever fabric they

wanted. This lesson also gave me informative data on which students had the skills to glue efficiently on their own and follow two-step

directions. If I were to implement this lesson again, however, there are elements that I could revise. First, our lessons are completed

during center time for the students, as it fits very well into the schedule. The students are able to choose doing a small group lesson

with us as one of their center options. The groups are typically quite small, in groups of two. I would try to conduct this lesson in larger

groups. This is because I struggled to get every students fabric book completed in the time allotted. Now that I know that completing

these books was more time-consuming for the students, I could do much better in planning and making time considerations for every

student to finish. To have organization during this lesson, and to see if the students could follow directions, I told them to select three

pieces of fabric for each page they were creating. The students were able to follow these directions but many of them wanted to be able

to put more than three pieces on their page. It also took a long time for students to select their fabric. If possible, I would like the

students to be able to put more fabric in their book if they wished. I also think there can be a more efficient way to select the fabric. I

think possibly I can sort the fabric into piles so the students could see all of their options right away, and possibly have a few less

options to choose from.
