Overall, I still have the same beliefs and morals; the only thing that has
changed for me is that I am much more appreciative of what I have. I
understand more now how others values may not be the same as mine but
that theirs are also important.
I do pay more attention to the news, there is so many things that are
happening around that I wasnt aware of before. It is very important to be
aware of your surroundings because what happens in the world does affect
all of us.
4. Do you see any dangers in which way the news is presented to us after
taking this course?
No I believe the news picks sides to inform the public on situation and they
always find a victim and a suspect. Its up to us, the public on how use the
information that is given.
6. Are you more aware of our individual differences and challenges after
discussing identity
and privilege?
Yes, after taking the privileged test I realized how privileged I really am I
didnt realize that having a computer or form of transportation would matter
to being privileged.
7. How much do you know and/or still rely on the Internet for information?
Are you more
cautious?
I consider myself a lover of wisdom and insight, just because I love to learn
and be knowledgeable of everything. I like that people can come to me for
advice and feel comfortable to share their personal life with me.
9. After taking this course, have you found new ideas, people, topics, etc.
that gives your life
more meaning?
Something that really struck me and has helped me more was knowing how
privileged I am because now I dont feel sorry for myself, I am grateful for the
things I have an have accomplished because most people dont get the same
opportunities. I am also more aware and understanding of others situations.
10. Are you still sleepwalking through life? Or are you awake a bit more?
11. In what ways can thinking about your own death this semester impacted
the way you live?
Thinking that I may possibly not have the life expectancy that I thought I
would is very frightening. I would want to have all the time I could but that is
not realistic so every day I am happier about what I do have and what I can
do to be happier.
13. What are you most grateful for? Are you more grateful now in life?
I am very grateful for everything I have in my life especially my parents.
They are the most understanding and supportive people I have ever come to
know. I appreciate everything they have done to raise me and make me who
I am.
14. One of the best ways to make yourself happy is to make other people
happy. Have you
I try to do that every day, just knowing that a friend is sad or someone in my
family I try to make them laugh, even if it is just for a moment.
15. How much of your happiness depends on how good things are going with
16. Overall, what have your learned from this course, if anything?
I have learned that not everyone is privileged in many ways. We should not
judge a book by its cover and be respectful of all religions, races and morals.
My favorite would be privilege and identity but it is also the one I related to
the most.
19. What final insight or message did you take from this course?
Teaching is great, I thank you for teaching this course and I had a great
time.
