Emperor Constantine the Great, the first Christian King, realized that
the Church of Christ was plagued with various (incorrect) dogmatic
opinions of Arius, the Protopresbyter of Alexandria.
Emperor Constantine therefore organized in 325 the first Great
Ecumenical Council at Nicea in Asia Minor, which was attended by
318 God-bearing Fathers from throughout the Orthodox Christian
world who hastened to meet so as to deliver (protect) the Church
from heresy.
Emperor Constantine attended throughout the duration of the Council,
and many of the Holy Fathers who were present had suffered
greatly for their Confession in the Name of Christ, during the reign
of the previous Emperor.
Some had one eye removed, some had their noses or their ears cut off,
while others had their hands cut off or had suffered other hideous
injuries from cruel tortures.
The first day of this Event was amazing, for at the days conclusion
