Accomplishments

Function and Technology Management

Currently Global Head of Application Delivery for Merchant Acquiring and Payments
Acceptance portfolio of Barclaycard, leading the transformation agenda of bank to create
industry leading solutions in Merchant Acquiring, Payments Acceptance, Billing &
Settlement, Customer Onboarding and Customer Self-service.
Managed a 25+ members PaaS Middleware Messaging Team of Barclays Bank, spread
across UK, US, Pune and other India locations of SI providers. This team delivers several
hundred integration infrastructure delivery projects (WMQ/WMB) every year and is
responsible for infrastructure management functions like software version upgrades,
decommissioning, SSL security and certificate management.
Integration Architecture
Architected and designed a SOA principle based, extensible and loosely coupled
integration layer using IBM ESBUS (WMB/WMQ) solution for Bank of Dhofar (Middle East
commercial bank) managing a 12 member team. Bank previous had a set of disparate
legacy applications connected point to point. Bank decided to replace these with Infosys
Finacle Banking suite along with a middleware layer developed from scratches.
ADM, Program Management and Offshore Delivery
Managed a large middleware infrastructure upgrade and migration program for American
Express in US for two years. Total budget of the program was $3.5 MM over three years.
Program team consisted of members from various technical departments of client
organization and consultants from three different vendor partners. It consisted of
upgrading mission critical messaging middleware from out of support software platform to
supported software platform (Firmware, OS and Messaging Middleware) and migrating
code for several hundred A2A and B2B messaging integrations from old platform to new
platform.
Managed a large middleware infrastructure separation program when American Express
Financial Advisor (AEFA) was spun off as a separate company Ameriprise. American
Express and AEFA shared a WMQ/WMB based middleware infrastructure and the program
objective was to separate out AEFA components, move them to a new dedicated
 Ameriprise infrastructure and move the existing hardware to a new American Express
data center. This program was delivered on-time under extremely tight and unmovable
deadlines, without any impact to American Express and Ameriprise production services.
Key player in establishing the Barclays messaging middleware team from ground up in
Pune and in-sourcing the critical technical functions from SI partner organization in
challenging timeframe with no impact to business.

Leading and managing the global team of 65+ Java and Mainframe developers and
designers spread across India and UK.

In my Transformation Manager role, I am a member of a core steering team of 6 senior
managers who are responsible for a mission critical re-platforming program. This program is
a 3 year, 250 million+ GPB, 350+ person program and is in its last year of execution. The
Java and Mainframe team that I lead is one of the components team delivering a critical
work-stream of this program. As a member of core steering team, I am responsible for:
Matrix managing 350+ program delivery team made up of 50+ technology teams.
Tracking and managing the technology deliverables of the team (design artifacts and code
base).
