Mini Unit Vocabulary

* The same vocabulary will be emphasized throughout the 3 days of the mini
unit.

Trophic Levels = locations within a food chain

Producers = organisms who use cellular respiration to supply the
energy they need to survive; autotrophs
Consumers = organisms that cannot make their own food;
heterotrophs
Food Chain = Depiction of the transfer of energy from green plants
through a series of organisms with repeated stages of eating and being
eaten
Food Web = a group of interconnected food chains that show the
feeding relationships in an ecosystem
