Self Reflection
Over the course of this semester I have grown tremendously as a
writer. I came in to this class not knowing what to expect because previously
I was not a very great writer. But as the semester went on, I saw myself
continuing to improve on my writing skills. I learned how to correctly do
outlines so that they actually help me when I am about to write my papers. I
also learned how to correctly paraphrase from other articles, so that my
writing is not plagiarized. Those skills that a learned are essential for the rest
of my time in college. Mainly because I will be writing a lot of papers
throughout the remainder of my collegiate career, so I will need to know how
to outline papers and to paraphrase from sources. There were some
challenges that I had to overcome while taking this course. Coming into this
class a had a problem with run on sentences. I used the peer review sessions
to help fix that problem. My classmates did a wonderful job of letting me
know when I had a run on sentence. I still could improve in this area of my
writing, because sometimes my sentences are too long or can be fragments.
My strengths in my writing are my creativity, I think my creativity allows me
to overcome some of my weaknesses in writing. I can really express my
voice in my writing because of my creativity.
