History:
*Colors of Money of consists of Green, Red, Violet, Orange, Yellow and Blue.
*Paper Currency was introduced during mid-19th century of Spanish colonization.
*In the year 1949, the Central Bank of the Philippines was created.
*English Series - the currency wherein Great Filipinos first time appeared on
Philippine Currency.
*The Philippine banknotes was highlighted to affirmed Philippine Independence.
*In the year 1960s, Our Philippine banknotes was translated into our national
language called as the Pilipino series.
*In the year 1970s, A new stamped bills was introduced called The Bagong
Lipunan.
*Our banknotes begun to be printed in Newly Built Security Plan Complex of
Central Bank of the Philippines.
*In the year 1986, A new banknotes was introduced to commemorate the events
of People Power Revolution called New Design Series that includes 500 banknote
with Senator Benigno Aquino Jr. and Corazon Aquino and 1000 banknotes with our
Filipino wartime heroes such as Vicente Lim, Jose Abad Santos and Josefa Llanes
Escoda.
*In the year 1993, the Central Bank of the Philippines was established to become
the Philippine's Central Monetary Authority.
*Our banknotes was made from Cotton-linen to Cotton-Philippine Abacca.

Printing Our Money


*Department of Economic Research(DER), the government sector who determines
currency demand based on the expected price movement as well as the growth of
population and economy.
*After DER, The Security Plant Complex (SPC) will procure the materials needed to
produce and imprint banknotes.
* The BSP's Numismatic Committee will initiate new design studies and propose
upgraded security features for consideration. The Monetary Board sends the
proposed new designs for the approval of the President of the Philippines.After
approval, the Security Plant Complex will work on the production of Money; the
Currency Management Group will assess the distribution of money to banks and
the banks will distribute through different transaction the money to the economy.
* For printing money, they used Special Security Paper that is made of 80% cotton
and 20% Philippine abacca that gives it a distinctive texture to set it apart from
other ordinary paper.
*Offset printing, whereas a number of 15-20 colors of the design money are
printed at a time.
*Intaglio printing, gives embossed look and feel on banknotes and raised ink
required several days for drying. After drying, the banknotes is under inspection of
the serial number.
*After sudden inspection, Cutting and Finishing was done repacking 1000 pieces
each money on a box delivered by Security Plant Complex to Currency
Management Group to Bank and finally to Economy.
*Why we can't print large amounts of money: To promote stable prices and Higher
Level of Employment
*Theory of Price Stability, If there is too much money in the circulation, it would
lead to higher consumer prices and lowering the purchasing power of the family.

*The banknotes part includes: Obverse - great filipino who played significant roles
atcrucial moments in our nation's history while at the Reverse - the natural
wonders of the Philippines.
* Our New Banknotes consists of 20,50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 denominations.
*20 - Manuel L. Quezon, first elected to be the Philippine President who advocate
the adoption of our national language and diligent to gain Philippine Indepedence.
Reverse - Banaue Rice Terraces- world heritage site, Palm Civet - Cordilleras, that
produces one the best coffee variety in the world the Alamid coffee
*50 - Segio Osmena, led critical stage during the end of world war II and and
transition to an independent nation. Reverse - Taal Lake - home of the smallest
active volcano and maliputo fish
*100 - Manuel A. Roxas, who prioritzed the crafting of centrabl bank charger and
leadership for the reconstruction of our country from the devastation of the
second world war. Reverse - Mayon Volcano, the perfect cone shaped volcano and
Butanding, largest fish living species.
*200 - Diosdado Macapagal, restored land reform and restored Philippine
Indepedence to June 12. Reverse - Bohol Chocolate Hills and Tarsier.
*500 - champions of Philippine Democracy such as Benigno S. Aquino Jr. who stood
up against Martial Law
Corazon C. Aquino, first woman president who restored democracy after People
Power Revolution. Reverse - Subterranean River National Park, declared in 1999 as
UNESCO world heritage site and Blue-Naped Parrot.
*1000 - war heroes such as Chief Justice Jose Abad Santos, who refused to
cooperate with Japanese forces, Josefa Llanes Escoda, founder of Girls Scout of the
Philippines, educator, women advocator, civil leader and helper of prisoners of war
and Brigadier Vicente Lim, first Filipino westpoint graduate. Reverse - Tubbataha
Reefs National Park, renounced as UNESCO world heritage site in 1993 and South

Feel the Note


*It is rough
*It is made of cotton and Philippine abacca
*It has embossed distinct tactile feel
*It has serial numbers that are composed of one or two prefix letters and six to
seven numbers in asymmetric or increase in size.
*The security fiber can glow under ultraviolet light.
*It shows watermark that consists of portrait and money denomination
*It has a word Pilipino written on baybayin.
*It has concealed value on the smaller portrait.
*Both 20 and 50 piso have 2mm wide security threads.
*100, 200, 500 and 1000 have 4mm wide security threads and can change color
from red to green.
*The security thread carries the initials of of BSP and the numeric denominations
in repeated series.
*At the back of the thread, BSP intials is also carried in repeated series.
*500 and 1000 have optically variable device patch as a reflective foil in which
500 has image of BSP logo and blue-naped parrot and 1000 has image of BSP logo
and south sea pearl and the patches changes color from red to green when
turning it to 90 degrees.

*1000 denomination has optically variable ink for the embossed denomination
value at the lower right corner and it changes color from green to blue when
viewed on different angles
*Genuine Money - legal money.
