Syrian troops fire upon peaceful President Obama calls for Assad
protesters to step down and freeze all
government assets

September 2011
The UN places multiple sanctions
on Syria and nations begin to
block the import of Syrian oil
March 2012
It is reported that upwards of
8000 people have been killed in
the conflict but Syrian opposition
says the numberis over 10000
people have been killed and
most of those killed have been
civilians

June 2012
The UN security council sends
February 2012
300 unarmed observers to
90% of citizens vote for major
monitor both sides of the conflict
changes to the Syrian
and report and violations of the
constitution which would allow
cease fire
for things such as multiple
political parties

Evidence of small scale chemical
weapon use by the regime is

Russia withdraws troops from syria after
stating that they have successfully
eliminated terrorists in key areas.
September 2016
The USA accidently kills 62 syrian army
troops in an air strike
December 2016
The syrian army takes control
over aleppo and a ceasefire is put
in place but it falls apart in a
matter of days
April 2017
Upwards of 80 civilians are killed
in a chemical weapons attacks
that is carried out by the syrian
government
