To Whom It May Concern:

Jeremiah Palicka was my student during her 10 week psychiatric/mental health nursing clinical
rotation last semester. As a clinical instructor/lecturer with fifty years experience in various
psych nursing areas, I have a unique opportunity to become acquainted with my students as
individuals. Since they're learning to use their own personalities as a therapeutic tool, I try to
help them get to know themselves more in depth and as members of a team on our 4-unit
inpatient facility. During our psych rotation, they also experience working with older adults,
pediatric therapy services, and intensive adult outpatient services. My goal for them is to
practice interpersonal relationship skills that can be generalized and applied to any nursing
endeavor they choose.

Jeremiah often gravitated to our more acute unit - where actively psychotic patients often
challenged staff. Jeremiah's presence and calming influence seemed to de-escalate situations.
His skills could be quite useful in many healthcare settings in which patients and/or families are
in crisis. Jeremiah's attitude and reactions to acting-out patients were: that's interesting; wonder
what's going on; maybe I can help!

Jeremian Palicka represents one of the best and the brightest RN-to-be graduates from one of
the top College of Nursing in the nation. Please review his resume again. When you interview
him, you will appreciate this poised, mature-beyond-his-years, intelligent, articulate, and caring
person. Seeing him in action on the job, you'll know that, although an excellent and congenial
team member, his confident, take charge self just seems to emerge as a natural leader.
Jeremiah often became a defacto spokesperson for his fellow students regarding
classroom/clinical issues with a very diplomatic approach to authority.

Jeremiah will bring a strong combination of abilities to your organization: 1) a broad and in depth
nursing knowledge base; 2) highly developed technical/technology abilities; 3) excellent
verbal/written communication skills; 4) an appreciation of the value of the continued application
of evidenced-based nursing practice; and, 5) finally the character and determination needed to
become one of your future leaders. Also, Jeremiah's philanthropic work and leadership
experiences reflect his desire to be an active university and/or community participant. His
educational and work experiences are many and varied; so, even as a new grad in health care,
he will demonstrate his adaptability and "quick study" skills.

It behooves you, without hesitation, to invite Jeremiah to become a permanent member of your
healthcare team. His loyal and perseverance will definitely serve your organization well. He
has nursing leadership of the future written all over him - make that happen with you!

Sincerely,

Susan Markovich, RN, MSN
