Substitute Plans

** All materials will be on the back table with each time period labeled with a sticky note

**

7:20-7:45 AM: Cafeteria Duty

During this time just make sure that everyone is seated and talking quietly.
Around 7:32 take the Kindergarteners and First grade students to their hall.
Release the students around 7:34 or 7:35.
For the rest of the time just make sure that students are out of the lunchroom by the second bell

that rings at 7:45.

7:50-8:20 AM: 5th grade English Resource

The girls will come down to you, so you do not have to go pick them up.
They will be reading the chapter book titled Phineas L. MacGuire gets SLIMED! For this

time just try to get through as many chapters as you can.

During the chapter there is designated questions to ask them to check for comprehension and

understanding.
Go through the questions while reading the passage.

8:15-9:00 AM: 4th grade English Resource

A.A. will come down to meet you in the room.

Go over calendar with A.A. and weather (she will most likely tell you already :))
She will be going over rhyming words for the endings -ake, -ike.
For A.A. model two examples and then do some together.
There will be a t-chart in the back with note cards that have different -ake and -ike words. Have

her write down the words and place them in the correct word families.
At 9:00 take her down to Mrs. Herzogs classroom Rm #: 1315.

9:15-10:00 AM: 5th grade Writing Inclusion (Mrs. Habermaker Rm #: 2411)

Tell Mrs. Habermaker that you are subbing for me and ask her what they are working on for

today.
Just monitor the students during the class time and make sure they are on task working on the

correct assignments.

10:00-10:30 AM: Break (You can either take a little break or see if any of the other SPED

teachers need any help)

10:30-11:00 AM: 4th grade Social Studies Inclusion (Mrs. Beasley Rm #: 2406)

Let Mrs. Beasley know that you are subbing for me and begin to work with A.A.
During this class time help A.A. with any readings or writings that they are doing. For her you

can ask her yes/no questions to help in finding out her thoughts on whatever assignment is going

on in class. In addition, you will need to write majority of her notes, however, if they are

working on a story or sentences try to have her write some (best way is to write down her

thoughts first and then have her copy down what is written).
For J.B. and C.W. just check on them periodically to make sure they are on task and doing what

they are suppose to do.

For C.W. you may need to go over directions again and read the questions.

11:00-11:40 AM: Planning Period (You can take a break or see if there is anything the other

SPED teachers need help with)

11:40-12:00 PM: 5th grade ICAP Inclusion (Mrs. Flores Rm #: 2414)

For K.S. just ask Mrs. Flores what they are doing for today and have him get with his group and

work on social studies. During this time it is just important for him to be participating with his

group mates, so if you monitor this than he should be good for the 20 minutes.
At 11:58 or 12:00 go ahead and start taking him back to Mrs. Herzog's Rm.

12:00-12:30 PM: Lunch

12:45-1:15 PM: 4th grade Math Inclusion (Mrs. Lacomb Rm #2407)

Let Mrs. Lacomb know that you are subbing for me, and then just ask what they are working on.
For this class time, just monitor J.B. and C.W. during math and help them if they any extra

directions or prompting.
You can also feel free to help any other students who may need help during time as well.

1:30-2:00 PM: 4th grade Math Resource (Mrs. Lacomb Rm #2407)

Have J.B. and C.W. come work with you in a small group setting either in the neighborhood or in

the classroom.
Go through the assignment with them, rephrasing any directions if needed.
Model an example first and then have the students attempt the problem. If the students are still

struggling, go through the problem together.

2:00-2:40 PM: 5th grade Writing Inclusion (Mr. Hurtado Rm #2409)

Let Mr. Hurtado know that you are subbing for me and ask what they are working on (they

should be working on a biography over a someone who is famous in history).

J.M., B.H., and S.K. should be working on their assignments, so just monitor to make sure they

are on task.
B.H. and S.K. are usually with Mr. Hurtado, so just check on them every once in awhile to make

sure they are good.

For the rest of the time just float around the room and see if anyone needs help.

**If you need anything else or have any questions please feel free to ask Mrs. Campbell

who is our Kinder through 2nd grade Resource teacher who is in Rm #: 2416**
